The Sino American Society and Global Volunteers currently maintain service programs in two Provinces in China: Shaanxi in Central China and Yunnan in the South. In China's center, Shaanxi Province served for generations as a major crossroads on the Asian continent. Yunnan, a historical center, is known as the "Southern Cloud."

Xi'an: As one of the six ancient capitals in China, Xi'an served as the seat of 12 imperial capitals for 1,120 years. It is not only a world-famous tourist city, a treasure house of cultural relics, but also an important base for scientific research, higher education and new and high technological industries such as aviation, aerospace and electronics.

Hunain Island is the largest ocean island and the smallest land province in China. A tropical paradise, Hunain often likened to Hawaii" because of it's natural beauty and picturesque landscapes. Like much of China, the people are known for being friendly and hospitable.

Kunming, the "City of Eternal Spring," is the provincial capital of Yunnan province, which borders Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam to the south. At an elevation of 1,891m, the city is surrounded by mountains on three sides, with one side facing Dianchi Lake.
An Shang is a typical Chinese farming village founded by a handful of families many generations ago. It has been said that if you wish to understand China, you must know a farmer. The people of An Shang typify the values and customs of both the "old" and the "new" China.
