Our Sino-American Partnership
China
Hainan Province | Shaanxi Province | Yunnan Province | Testimonials | Join A Team | Contact Us

A unique intercultural partnership began in 1995, when Sino-American Society President An Wei visited Global Volunteers in Minnesota, USA. The two organizations agreed to combine their resources to bring English-speaking volunteers to China, and to demonstrate the power of people-to-people friendship and initiative. The school districts in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, Yunnan Province, and Haiku City on Hainan Island work together to provide the best education possible for Chinese youth, and to serve adults in many ways. Global Volunteers is the USA's leading international human and economic development organization facilitating short-term volunteer opportunities in China.

This combined effort provides our volunteers an unprecedented opportunity to serve -- and to experience China intimately -- with the politics and pretenses "peeled away." Read Global Volunteers President Bud Philbrook's observations about serving in China.

Global Volunteers' American on-site team leader, working closely with Chinese consultants and project coordinators, provides the highest-quality volunteer experience available in our country today. Whether you work in our classrooms, in our countryside, in our clinics or courts, join a team and see what you can do!
